Privacy Policy

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how FreeFileFast handles information when you visit the website or use its file tools. It applies to the FreeFileFast website and not to third-party sites or services linked from it.

Local file processing

User-selected file contents are processed locally by code running in your browser. FreeFileFast does not intentionally upload file contents, filenames, extracted text, embedded metadata, generated outputs, or object URLs to its servers or to advertising or analytics providers.

The tools may create temporary in-memory data, canvases, decoded media, workers, and object URLs. The application releases these resources when feasible after replacement, reset, download, route change, or page closure. Browser behavior, crashes, extensions, downloaded copies, and operating-system storage remain outside FreeFileFast's control.

Website and hosting data

Loading a website necessarily creates network requests. FreeFileFast's hosting, content-delivery, security, and network providers may receive ordinary request metadata such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested page or asset, referring page, timestamps, approximate location derived from an IP address, and operational or diagnostic records. This data is used to deliver, secure, diagnose, and maintain the website; it does not intentionally include your selected files.

Local preferences

FreeFileFast may store limited preferences on your device, such as theme, recently visited tool routes, and your consent choices and their timestamp. These preferences are not a cloud file store and must not contain selected file contents. You can clear them with the site's privacy choices where available or through your browser's site-data controls.

Advertising and analytics

External advertising and analytics services load only when the relevant provider is configured and applicable privacy controls permit the associated technologies.

If enabled, third-party providers may receive ordinary webpage and device information, consent signals, cookies or similar identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location, ad interactions, and diagnostic information. File contents, filenames, file sizes, dimensions, durations, page counts, hashes, extracted text, embedded metadata, generated content, object URLs, and conversion settings must not be included in analytics or advertising events.

Third-party providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies and may process it in countries other than yours. FreeFileFast will identify active providers and update this policy when those services are enabled.

Purposes and legal bases

Depending on the context and applicable law, information may be processed to provide and secure the website, remember requested preferences, diagnose faults, comply with legal obligations, and, only when permitted, measure or support the service through analytics and advertising. The applicable basis may be performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website, consent, or compliance with law. Consent can be withdrawn through Privacy Choices when consent is the basis.

Retention

Because FreeFileFast does not intentionally receive selected file contents, it has no server-side retention period for them. Local preferences remain on your device until changed or cleared. Hosting, security, and diagnostic records are retained by the relevant provider only as needed for operational, security, legal, or contractual purposes under the provider's configured retention practices.

Your privacy choices and rights

Privacy rights vary by location and may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal information FreeFileFast actually controls. Requests may be sent to support@freefilefast.com. We may need enough information to understand and verify a request. FreeFileFast cannot retrieve a file that never left your device.

Use Privacy Choices to review or change nonessential analytics and advertising preferences. Browser controls can also delete or block local storage, although doing so may reset preferences.

Children's privacy

FreeFileFast is a general-audience file utility and is not directed to children who are below the age at which they may independently consent to online data processing in their location. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information to FreeFileFast may contact us so the concern can be reviewed.

Security and limitations

FreeFileFast uses local processing, configuration gates, resource cleanup, input limits, dependency review, and browser security controls to reduce risk. No website, device, network, or storage method is completely secure. Users should keep backups, use a current browser, protect their devices, and avoid processing sensitive files on shared or untrusted systems.

Changes and contact
